How to set 'Read Channel' for number input?
Just a quick question that I might delete afterwards, On my Anchor control panel that has 3 buttons for controlling the anchor I have 1 dial that is for reading the rope length. On the instrument panel, the dial is Channel 4 but I can't find a way to select the 'Read Channel' in the microcontroller logic. I'm going off MRNjersey's video on instrument panels and back in his video there was the option to select the 'Read Channel' in the Composite Write component, but that option is no longer there and I only have 'Start Channel' and 'Channel Count'.

The composite read should still be here since I just use this block earlier in this week, try use the search bar and type “read”

Click the Composite Write component to see its properties. Set your start channel to the channel you want, set channel count to 1

So does the Start Channel work as the Read Channel?

yes, for single channel writes. If you set number of channels to greater than one you can use this one block to write all values in consecutive channels at once. Try it!

That doesn't seem to be working. To reaffirm, i'm setting the 'Start Channel' of 'Composite Write (number) to 4, while there is one input. Is this correct?

I think you have confused between composite read and composite write. Only composite write have the ability to select start channel and channel count so that you can write 32 numbers into one coposite with one composite write block. For composite read, it only has read channel and 1 block is only able to read 1 channel so you will need 32 blocks to read 32 channels.

as soon as i saw this i wanted to comment this: i am watching how to do it on MrNJerseys channel XD

I'm still confused, like I said in the description it's to read the anchor length.

I do think Gristle's comment is correct.
Have you connected it with the right components and has power??
Try to check the channel settings on your instrument panel and make sure you connect the composite output from your microcontroller to the panel

The component you're looking for is called composite read.
I'm not sure why this took 10 posts to answer :lunar2019deadpanpig:

He doesn't need the composite read component since he said that his dial is located in the instrument panel. Else he can directly connect the cable length reading to the dial.
