The reason it is cycling like that is because the autopilot is overreacting. I imagine you probably need to lower some PID settings, but I have no idea which or by how much.
To figure this one out, you'd have to link the plane. Usually people do the mistake of tying gyro of some sort to the plane, which just won't work as it's a helo gyro.
LUA Scripting may be the way to go not too bothered about an all singing and all dancing autopilot but altitude hold is useful for long flights and I have a separate speed hold by auto feathering the props.
