How big is my chara?

I build my first ship. Now i have the problem, i don't know how big is my chara. How height must i made the rooms. How big the gates, how much space for ladder passages, how wide the ways. Is there some test you ship mode? Or can i import my chara in the builder?

And btw. Is there some light button for builder? Because when i build, the rooms are too dark

Thanks, other question, my ship sink always, because when i release it, it fly from above directly under water and don't come up x.x

You have a hole letting the water in. You may think water cant get in, but it can find a way if you havent sealed your vessel well enough to survive the spawn.

In the editor, there is a MOVE tool. You can click on it and it will allow you to move your vessel up/down front/back and left/right.

I always move my vessel down before I spawn it so it has a better chance of not submerging enough on spawn to find the holes where water can get in.

your character is 7 blocks tall, I try to make my rooms 8 blocks tall. Given the width of a ladder, I try to make passageways at least 3 blocks wide. He/she can squeeze through smaller areas.

And if your putting the larger crates inside your vessels, doors should be 5 tiles wide.

7*2*2 for a standing player, 3*2*2 for a crouching one.

My first ship was a lot too small.

I mean not every little thing needs a developer writeup on it - especially in alpha. It would be easy enough for you to make rooms different sizes and try to walk in each one and you would find out within 2 minutes what it is. No need for a document

Not really, because you must first build a complete ship. When you try only doors, or rooms, it would sink. 2 mins is also not correct.

I think I saw the chara height stated as 7 blocks in Discord FAQ. I might add it to the guide I posted here. Prob good info for designing a starter boat.
