Stormworks: Build and Rescue

Stormworks: Build and Rescue

I cannot spawn working vehicles from the Workshop.
So I just got this game and I’ve seen videos on it for a long time. I was very excited to spawn my favorite creations! So I’ll give an example on one of many advanced and non-advanced creations that I have tried to spawn.

I spawned GBDanny96’s MS Brown Star which is destructible. I spawned it in advanced mode where it gave me a warning it would not work because it was built with advanced mode turned off. So where it’s supposed to split, the magnets would not connect. That also means the lifeboats fell and none of the doors would work to add to the boat not spawning together.

So I quit to the menu and made a new game without advanced mode turned on. Nonetheless, the warning came up telling me exactly the opposite of what it told me. Now it said it was created with advanced mode on.

This has been happening with many creations and I just can’t find the answers on other topics similar. I hope someone ca help, thanks.

Try to create a new game, with advanced mode on. Load the vehicle from workshop and save it with any name. Start a new game again and spawn the new named vehicle.

The warning should be gone.

Generally speaking before the custom thumbnail change it was very easy to determine which workshop creations were advanced by their faded gray twin chevron (^) backgrounds, although the vast majority of creations are in advanced anyway.

If you accidentally loaded the autosave of the version after loading it in the basic mode, it will give you an alert that the vehicle was last (auto)saved when basic mode was on, that's more than likely why you're getting the message. Try loading it again in advanced mode from the workshop tab instead of the autosave thumbnail.

The easy way to tell you're in advanced mode from within game is to simply check whether you can make pipes, as these are not available in basic mode, in case you're unsure.

Thank you both for your comments, I really appreciate it!

Ok, I tried both, and they still don’t work. The ships don’t have magnets turned on and split in half. I’m probably missing something.

Oh, you're spawning some massive silly multi-part things. They're only ever meant to be spawned as missions, that has nothing to do with spawning normal, functional vehicles.

Oh, okay, I tried spawning some other ones, but they wouldn't start, even after a tutorial. However,
I'm new so it will just take some getting used to, thanks a whole lot!

How any vehicle starts is specific to the vehicle and how their creator intended it to be started. Generally speaking, if you apply a little bit of throttle and hit the starter button, most vehicles will start with that alone.

If the vehicle doesn't have any sort of instructions for starting it, then no one but the creator can help you.
