train standards?
we need to set standarts for trains so we can connect wagons of multiple creators.

the same way like how we did with containers. what are they gonna be? or are they already there?

i just started playing again. completly missed the fact that trains where added.

Yes it is possible to create realistic coupling, and practical I suggest to make coupling with a magnet usual and electric connection and already there are standards of containers, If you want I can show on the Primus:bricksplosion:)

yeah i was refering to the containers. we need to do the same with train connections.

i've seen people use a system with magnets and the push away thingeys. now we need a standard for the height and width of the parts. not more or less.

I propose to make a height of 4 block of the pneuvmatic piston then on it the button and left as piston looks to supply the electrical connection And make the right side of the usual tip or For For water

There is also the problem that some couplers use small magnets while others use electric connection. Soime use both. It would be nice to have a specific coupler type that the devs create to help everyone create and use train parts that work together. Also the train network needs an expansion and some missions.

I thhink we wuill eventually get updates that will add misions

yeah that would be the best way
edit, i propose if we make a standart that we use magnets because they are the easiest to make.

All my trains have 2 regular 1 electric conn so three for each link... all on a hinge left/right and a unpowered liniar track slide up/down... this way no matter the height of the next car they can attach it moves up/down left right. that should be the standard. as far a the type of connectors used just use electric to share power from engine... all my cars are self powered so the trains throttle will cause all cars to accelerate thud no wheel spin or traction issues

okay nice, can you make a standard wagon. with only the wheels and that system. so people can easily copy it? you can also share a wagon that uses that system so i can delete the fancy stuff and share it myself? just call it standard train layout or something.

is it usable in easy mode too? i don't use the fancy generator stuff and such so.. (yet)

You can find some standards on this discord: https://discord.gg/b9jXJDg

Or on the gamepedia wiki (available from 19.05.2019) https://stormworks.gamepedia.com/Wiki/Standards
