There is no blood, naked bodies, guns nor bad language. I'd say its pretty safe.

and its a great tool for learning, I have given it to family that have early teens, just to give them a platform thats fun to learn things like Logic Gates. I dont really call it a game either, personally I think its much more than that.

"no blood" isn't correct, there certainly is blood if you happen to run into a propeller
That and many other places

dont forget about the sharks and the meg. although the megalodon can't eat you. i reckon it can still give a young kid a scare.

please note that there are options to turn of sharks/megalodons.
also you can turn of player damage so that fixes the blood when u walk into a propeller.

As far as i understand the weird and rather inconsistent ideology of it, ESRB rates fear based on intentional fear, that is, horror elements.

Sharks might be scary to some, but i don't think they can be described as a horror element. Even with that, they're an optional extra. I'd let anyone above the reading age play the game, mainly because a little bit of pixel goo flying out isn't "potentially traumatizing" in my opinion.

ESRB would likely rate this as T in most places simply due to the blood though, which is silly. There's a big difference between silly goo splatter vs. say, the rather infamous Soldier of Fortune, but they're both rated as "Blood and Gore" under ESRB (they do have a "cartoon blood" rating but it's usually only ever given for discolored blood).

I would say 7+ with sharks and survival.

I looked at pegi 3 and pegi 7 games on Google and compared to this one, I think Stormworks is pegi 7.

ps (7)Game content with scenes or sounds that can possibly be frightening to younger children should fall in this category. Very mild forms of violence (implied, non-detailed, or non-realistic violence) are acceptable for a game with a PEGI 7 rating
(PEGI12)video games that show violence of a slightly more graphic nature towards fantasy characters or non-realistic violence towards human-like characters would fall in this age category. Sexual innuendo or sexual posturing can be present, while any bad language in this category must be mild. Gambling as it is normally carried out in real life in casinos or gambling halls can also be present (e.g. card games that in real life would be played for money)

Ah, the wisdom of the 6th grade.
You have no idea. Even the internet is tame nowadays.

I think there is a difference between what age people can play the game, and who can enjoy it.
Sure, the game is suitable for 8 year Olds but they aren't going to be able to build anything, really.
Especially now that building is so much more difficult than it used to be.

Age rating. Well I'd say as soon a a kid can do some basic math. 6 and onward probably. You make this game as complicated as you want.
