Thats why you build what I'm building currently... I'm making two vehicles to buy in bulk and take one trip for a LONG time. I'm building a realistic version of an oil barge I've personally worked on before, and i'll be also building a Realistic Tug boat to push it. If you give me a day or two add me/ remind me I'll send ya a link to it once it's published.
I'd estimate the barge to hold around 60k liters if not more haven't measured it yet.

Absolutely but honestly this is why I like this game it keeps you on your toes! Every issue I run into a build something to correct it! In this example my issue was caused by my fuel tanking setup! I use to be a Tankermen IRL. So I was the main guy discharging and loading fuel into barges. Hence the reason I made a River Tow Boat and Fuel Barge using two vehicles individually for specific jobs (Barge for fuel pumping) (Boat for propulsion)!
But the winch bugged out last night and shot the connector into the bow of my ship piercing the hull and consequently sinking it as soon as I made it to dock, and later on the barge too!
So I made iterations to all of my creations today! Segregated void tanks like the barges I use to work on IRL. My barge can safely stay afloat with over 150k Liters of Fuel in it. I had one large void tank wrapping around my entire diesel tank setup (Oversight on my part) Which held 300k of Water after checking how much water came in LMAO!
