I, too, would appreciate an explanation. The Wikipedia article is probably great for people already well versed in electronics-geekness, but some of us are a little less experienced with terms like bistable multivibrators (sounds like nuclear physics meets porn to me). Any simple explanations?

Both are basically boolean memory registers. Both have identical logic inputs/outputs. When "Set" is triggered, the register will be set to "true". When "Reset" is triggered, it will be set to "false". Outputs are self explanatory.

The difference between the two is when both "Set" and "Reset" are triggered (which is an error):
- SR Latch will output "false" in both outputs.
- JK Flip Flop will reverse its state.

Do I understand correctly that if I push one-time "1" to its SET then it constantly emits "1" on the output independent on what I will sent to SET, until I RESET it?

As you learn it might help to have a folder of saved stuff from Google images.

What you can do is time in for example "Sr latch truth table" find the image that is the easiest to understand for you and put it inside the folder. With a collection of these for reference you will learn much quicker. Helps me alot as I was confused by the jk flip flop and Sr latch for some time

Hint : Jk flip flop and SR latch are very similar

Nercroed for people from the future
