If yes, that is not what Rodzyn was talking about, but the icon before last on the top row, the one that looks like a square of dotted lines.
Admittedly, the first is called "Select" and the other "Selection Grid", it can cause confusion.
You'll have to resize the grid to be at least as big as your whole ship, click on cut, use the rotation keys to achieve the desired result, then click on paste.
I've been redoing a wheelhouse using the selection grid in order to practice with it and because I wanted to see which was more work intensive, cutting and pasting or just restarting from scratch and redo all the connections again. That's a game changer.
If i were to guess, delete or backspace is the logical bind. There has been more than a year since i looked at the keybinds, it's possible it's there too.
