Sanity in flashbacks

During the main game, does your sanity drain while in a flashback? I know enemies ignore you if you're in one, so I thought maybe your sanity wouldn't drain too.

I don't think so, even enemies despawn when a flashback occurs.

The sanity does not drain during flashbacks. Flashbacks were originally meant to making the game slower, but Fricitional soon realised: Players, who are chased by a monster do not have the ability to listen to what happend, so they made the monsters ignore you. On the second hand: Players who are listening to flashbacks could stop moving and just listening. After the flashback their sanity could be in "...", so Frictional removed that.

I recommend everyone to keep their lamps of during a flashback, because it allows you to save oil without sanity loss.
