Is there anyway to repair vehicles/tanks?
Am I missing something? I've tried using supply vehicles but if my tank has it's engine destroyed/tracks broken it doesn't appear that there is a way to fix it.

Field repairs in an active battlefield are absurd. You all are spoiled by wargame with its magical tank repairing supply trucks.

Eugen is not going to have you magically revive dead comrades from infantry squads using a magical supply truck, nor will they be letting you magically conduct engine repairs/replacement on an active battle field for your tanks/vehicles.

Well i dont think there should be repairs.....
Reinforce infantry could be possible but would make inf pretty strong.
However what i find realy bad is that you cannont man decrewed equipment like AT guns, mortars, etc....
If it got blasted by a bomb fine..... but just because an inf squad shot its crew it magicaly vanishes from battlefield. I find that far more disturbing than a repair on field.

Gameplay > Reality

Just having a bunch of tanks parked somewhere randomly on the map doesn't really make for good gameplay. No one is talking about reviving people here either, and repairing vehicles isn't magic.

Sure it took a few hours upto weeks to repair tanks, maybe you represent that by certain damage being unrepairable, but perhaps make tracks repairable.
Maybe add in support vehicles that can tow tanks so you can still move them around, or just recover tanks to get a small percentage of its cost back.

Either way I don't really think just having tanks sit idle somewhere makes for good game mechanics.

I think detracked and bailed out vehicles as well as AT/AA guns without a crew should be repairable. Its not too far off and would make for some more dynamic gameplay.

Add a mechanic that allows you to take over abandoned enemy vehicles to top it off and this would make for some interessting gameplay!
Repairing tanks? Did that happen in reality? Did they REPAIR tanks that became useless duo to gunfire? I guess not. Dead infantry ok, but then not from the truck, have them actualy RETREAT and REENTER the battle via road for that. Or call in reinforcements that arrive in a truck(unarmed ofc.), yet NO TANK REPAIRS! Its not like the US might get the T28 via ingame or Mod, so that beast with repair would be unstopable. Same goes for Tiger tanks, one should be happy if that thing looses its tracks so one could outflank it and kill it actualy.

Perhaps they want to design like close-combat series.

Yep repairs would be bad realy.... but inf reinforce and capture decrewed equipment is both realistic and would spice up things. I also like the idea of a INf leaving map to reenter at full strength... would also be balanced as you loose a unit on the frontline for some time

I say add in recovery vehicles that can tow away tanks off map, where after a fairly long time you can call them back in for free. Of course, recovery vehicles would typically be vulnerable even when not towing a tank, let alone when they are.

I think transmission repairs and engine should not be implemented but track damage should...that was a consistent thing that was done by the tank crews themselves hint why they had spare track segments on the side of the turret/hull...just add a large timer to repair that they have to be out of combat.

My thought process is, if you are able to bring up a "Repair unit" and keep it safe behind friendly lines you should be able to repair a vehicle on the battlefield. Not the front line lol, but if you've managed to secure the vehicle.

Or this, this makes alot of sense. The germans actually had "repair centers" set up behind friendly lines where tank crews could drive/be towed to.
You CAN repair damaged vehicles. It takes a very long time though. Just leave the supply vehicle next to it and eventually it will recover.
