Native resolution not available
Hello,

I have a monitor with 3840x1200 as native resolution.
I cannot set this resolution in-game though, the close one is 3840x2160, which is to much for the height (obviously) and also low in Hz, as it should support 144Hz for the monitor.

Is it possible to set these values in some config file somewhere, or even hex? Or maybe some workaround?

Hi Prostone!

It sounds like you are trying to use an ultra-widescreen monitor. Unfortunately, MageQuit only supports the 16:9 aspect ratio, but it is odd to me that you can't set the refresh rate to 144 Hz (I'm able to do this on my laptop screen).

However! Something you could try is editing the registry settings before opening MageQuit.
Open your windows cmd and run the regedit command.
And then under Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Bowlcut Studios\MageQuit
you can set ResolutionHeight, ResolutionWidth, and ResolutionRefresh using Decimal mode.
When you launch MageQuit, it should theoretically pull in those values as your defaults.

I'm not 100% certain this will work, but it's worth a try. If it does work, forcing MageQuit into a non-16:9 aspect ratio may skew a lot of the UI, so be ready for that.

Hope that helps!

Hi Brett,

unfortunately it seems like after splash screens are over, settings are taken from somewhere else than registry (splashscreen seem to be in native resolution). Even setting .exe to readonly does not prevent this override.

Also behaves the same with UseNative option in registry ie native splashscreens and game last saved resolution.

As for the refresh rate, I do not have an option to even set that in registry, and ingame anything after 1920x1200 143Hz can only be set to max 59Hz.

Nevertheless it is playable on 1920x1200 and we will probably play this game on a different monitor anyway, so it is not an issue right now.

Thanks for a quick response.

Looking forward to playing this game with friends :)

Okay, gotcha! That's good to know for future reference, so thanks for following up.

I hope you have a good time playing it with your friends!
