Local multiplayer with 2 controllers?

Is it possible to play a local multiplayer game with 2 people, each using a separate xbox controller?

i just played it on the steam link with a steam controller linked to the steam link and an xbox 360 controller linked to the pc. each player got his own controller. so using two xbox would be technically the same - works.
BUT: the local game is still in 'taking turns'-mode, even with multible controllers. plus: all controllers are active all the time with imputs being recognised, which means you can easily manipulate another players shot...which can be fun and hell
