But its still EA and there are not many golf games out there.
This game feels clunky and unpolished ( I mean its still in EA) and the courses are just alpha placeholder courses. They are not fun to play.
Meanwhile the courses in golf with your friends are really fun, varied and you have multiple game modes like normal golf, hockey and dunk.
I really want golf it to get good as a final product, but hold off for now!
GWYF does have some physics objects though (like the black hole) and object solidifier thingy, and the stock courses are better.
I also prefer the golf swinging in Golf It - in things like GWYF, having a Power meter shown on screen basically guarantees that you can always dial in a shot
If you like memorizing the exact power with a dial that allows you to control your exact power to always score hole in ones, then Golf with your friends is the way to go.
If you like power to be unreliable and harder to get really good at, allowing for different results every match like a real mini golf course. Then Golf It is for you.
Golf it is more skill based, has better collision, a better workshop, are more active workshop, better custom map scripting and soon to be VR. Golf with your friends is probably worse in every way, tbh. I mean, the statement makes no sense. "The courses are just placeholder" ... what? No one plays these games for the 5 base maps, we all play for workshop maps. lol
