So flicking the mouse is not an appropriate way to play this game. There are many people who do it in this way (including me in the beginning) and it normally results in an unpredictable speed of the ball. Which results in people complaining about a frustrating experience with the game.
When you try to hit the ball exactly on the spot, where it is lying, your hand will stop the mouse automatically. That gives you a putterspeed between the desired power and zero depending on the precision of your hand.
Try to continue the track ball movement at a continuous speed for some more centimeters/inches. You don't even need a long distance to swing at all. Only speed at the moment you hit the ball counts.
And btw. change the putter speed in the options. Superfast flicking is absolutely unnecessary and counterproductive.
