Does the timer keep going when you pause the game?

I loved both episodes, and would sign up anytime a game with similarm mechanisms... Apart from the obvious (like terraria), are there any games out there? Steam and internet recommendations are not really good...

Dell G15 5511 Laptop, RTX 3050 Ti, XBX Wired Controller. Game keeps crashing for me. I can still here jumping and movement sounds in the background when I press buttons, so it's just the visuals that are crashing hard. Any ideas?
