Quick question about 1 and 2

Hey!

So I am getting this on the switch, sorry steam :P but I am wondering are 1 and 2 connected? will I be lost or confused if I havent played the first game? I know the first is a must play because it is good, but I would like to know if I could just hop into 2 without many issues.

They are connected in that you play as Dorothy who is one of the shop keepers from the first game and you are searching for Rusty who was the first game's main character.

The first game focuses on gameplay. There isn't much story, so you'll be fine starting off with this one but I still recommend playing the first at some point as it's a really good game.

There's also SteamWorld Heist which is connected to these games and takes place after the events of 1 and 2.

You dont need to play first game prior to second. No, there will be no confusion. All characters will introduce themself as new and SteamWorld Dig 1 wasnt really about story, more about digging.

Sounds like it might be about the same as the first one, in terms of story...or perhaps a bit less.

How long roughly did it take to finish?

I've read on some reviews that there is about 15 to 10 hours. Not sure if that includes doing all of the side stuff like grinding etc.

I got Steamworld 2 at about 10am yesterday, played it pretty much non stop all day, with an hours break, i finished it just about 2am. so i used about 13 hours.
