What upgrades to get?

I've been doing a little bit of farming for resources and have 1381 gold and 5 cogs. I'm almost at "Explore Veltron". ( which I'm ASSUMING is halfway through the game? )

Not too worred about health / armor, I have 7 hearts. Suggestions? Thank you! : D

I'd say the bomb launcher until you can fire while airborne, and ALL of the pickaxe ones. Past that, it just depends on how you feel.

Item of note on the cogs: it's not like Diablo gems, you can pop the cogs out and swap them as needed, no penalty. It can only be done at a workbench, but still...
