Fast travel?

Is there fast travel, or at least any way to reduce travel time? I'm pretty new and just defeated the gargoyles boss.

Go to Anor Londo and kill the boss (bosses). Then the warp system will open. Until then you will walk.

In the beginning of the game you don't really have to do fast travel as you unlock shortcuts and walk through the areas to connecting areas. You're meant to explore the world and try things out.

As the other commenter says, you have to go to Anor Londo and kill the main boss there, so you can google on how to get to Anor Londo as quickly as possible, but I think it would take away from the experience.
One tip I do want to give you though, don't go to the Catacombs before you have fast travel, unless you're prepared to have to go back in annoying ways.

NO! If you are a new player, play the game without guides or 'walk throughs'.
Try to use only if you get seriously stuck after dying a bunch of times.

So many vet DS players would give an arm+ to play DS as a new player all over. Ask yourself why. Then again, maybe those earlier and now vet players are different than some tourists of this new generation of players. So many threads asking for gimme, gimme, gimme weapon or armour drops, it's just sad...
