invasion wrong warp

i wanted to do some invasions in the kiln of the first flame, but when i loaded onto my character the first invasion i got sent me to the darkroot garden, outside of the church where the titanite demon is.

i went and found the host and after i killed him i only received 360 souls. since you only receive 10% of the host's last level up cost, that means he was about level 24. i am level 62 with weapon level 15, meaning this match-up should never have been allowed. after the invasion was over i returned to the spot where i had been standing in the kiln.

i logged off of another character before i got onto that one, who had been in the bonfire room in the depths. i also deleted two characters who had been in the fourth and ninth save slots, and were in the painted world of ariamis and the undead burg, respectively.

i recall a glitch like this being noted around the time the game first came out, where a video of a guy who was invading in the undead burg was warped to the kiln of the first flame. unfortunately, i don't have video evidence of this experience.

i don't think that had anything to do with it; every now and then, and seemingly tied to the player itself and nothing else, i'll invade someone out of range and area as well.

i don't think it's a bug; i think it's cheat engine, and i think these players are probably just checking boxes without thinking, because why would you do that?
