Gwyndolin randomly died

I just realized about the hackers killing npcs and bosses thing on pc, to my knowledge the mf only killed gwyndolin and teleported me to his arena, should I'd be worried about my playthrough being ruined?
And also, should I be worried about my pc being damaged by anything the hacker did?

Check if the iconic Orstein duo boss is alive.

Giant Blacksmith NPC.
If he is dead you can not get boss weapons or lighting upgrades.

,amazing chest lady,firekeeper lady at the bonefire,Solarie at the third bonefire are all NPCs.

Gwyndolin dying means you can not join his covenant and can not get the darkmoon blade(needs 30 faith) spell from him.

He is a very easy boss fight with only 3 ranged attack moves.

You are likely fine as long as you can get the Lord Vessel from amazing chest lady.
If she is dead you should have it in your inventory.

AS ALWAYS make sure you backup your saves after every session.

As some hackers can F-up your game but very unlikely to damage your PC.

as for the run being ruined did you do the pikachu and snorlax fight? if so it would not matter a bit. if not learn how to make a back up save.

as for the pc part nothing would happen unless they hack your pc while you are not in game

Yeah, solaire, the giant and the duo are still there, I think their plan was to troll me by getting me stuck in the arena and forcing me to use the teleport that makes you loose all your souls, but I had some teleport bones.
Tbh I was more worried about my pc being damaged than my playthrough.

Anyways, begginer mistake to not check the online status of old games on pc, thx a lot for the info

the hacker did one thing though make that first bonfire a kos area with that fire keeper
but you did not lose that bonfire also

Fromsoft anti hacking is very weak so in all Souls games even in Elden ring best to have backup saves.

DSR does have cloud but DS2 does NOT have cloud saves so you need to backup if you want to reinstall pc or so on.

Not sure if other games have cloud saves or not.

Also check recently played with and Block the user.

Your PC will be fine, as long as you play the Remastered version. I heard there were exploits to brick PCs on PTDE version, but it's gone, so you are safe. Your save file though is a bit corrupted, but that shouldn't be too big of an inconvenience. You are not locked out of other areas and bosses, so just keep playing and go to those areas, you will be fine.

Okay so I found out that you can restore the old savefile with Onedrive.

The savefile lies in \Documents\NBGI\DARK SOULS REMASTERED\ which by default is synced by microsoft Onedrive. So you can click on the .sl2 file and check the onedrive version history and restore the savefile to a version shortly before the incident did happen.

This just happened to me as well. I was going for the Backlogs' Demon Dad build too. We learned a valuable lesson about backing up saves today. Oh well, onto NG+

Install Metalcrow's Overhaul mod, it has a feature to prevent hackers from killing bosses and npcs

this same thing just happened to me, no npc on anor londo and dont have no gwen, no lautrec, no fire guardian, no solair and other stuff, but was able to get the lord vessel to continue i think
