Should I use PvPWatchdog?

Hi! I'm going to buy this game and I know there's a PvPWatchdog mod for just like DS3 has. The main reason I used the mod on DS3 was to prevent cheaters to inject invalid items automatically in my inventory so I'd get a ban. Do item injector cheaters exist in DS Remastered? Should I use PvPWatchdog to prevent that?

I've not run across a single hacker so far. Apparently they were rampant on release but don't seem to be around much now.

If there are working item injection tables for DSR, then they're very rare. Most common is just people with modified stats, or people who remove your covenant and curse you.
PvP Watchdog is originally a PtDE mod, I haven't tested the Remaster version but if it's similar then it certainly can't hurt. In my experience it hasn't seemed like a necessity though.

You can use DSR Watchpup as a way to track session info & alert you whenever someone cheats. It also displays matchmaking ranges based on your current SL and weapon upgrade! It should be available on Nexusmods.

There's no force itemgib in DSR to my knowledge - and the DS3 script won't work out of the box if you were to try and port it.

The sadistic scrubs here can use ban-able item drops/trades, but mostly early level("undead burg") curses and/or immortal gravelording.

There is no normal way to curse opponents(other than getting geckos to curse them), so any attack that curses is cheating. You can come here, find someone who will help and who will summon you(such as I). They are just looking to ruin the fun of other's.

Immortal gravelording is where they put down a covenant sign that "welcomes online ganking"(if you didn't know) and these casuls make themselves have; unlimited hp, unlimited spell use, air-walking, etc. so they can "show multiple people how cool they are".

PvP Watchdog on DS:R is surprisingly very effective. A streamer tried it and it actually worked 100% against some stream snipers who had CE on the background.

the only real drawbacks to using it are the bugs they mention on the mod page. some item visibility things and like, the occasional crash.
