Can invaders steal your humanity?

I went afk for a few minutes and came back to find myself on almost zero health, with all my souls in tact, and a message saying "********* has returned to their world." They must have realised I was afk and showed mercy, but somehow all of my humanity missing.

Yes, there is a fist weapon that you can get from the Dark Wrath cov/enemies.

Makes sense. There was an invader punching me with a glowing fist probably 10 minutes before I went afk. They were barely doing any damage and would swap to the drakesword when it looked like I was going to win.

I don't recall the exact sequence, parry/ripost/slash or whatever, but each successful hit will return humanities

Okay, that must be why I didn't lose any the first time. I didn't even notice my humanity change in the first (and only actual) fight with them. I was backstabbing, parrying and riposting.

Dark Hand grab attack can drain humanity including from some NPCs.
Amount drain depends on the attackers Darkwraith Covenant rank and of course, you can not drain if the opponent has no humanity left.

DarkWraith NPC and the Four king grab also drains 1 humanity.
