AND you can easily install all kinds of great mods for PTDE, many people look really hard for a copy of that game, it is not sold anymore. DS1 never looked better when modded.
RE: DS Remaster (DSR) it is playable with KBM, but note, the game was created for console and the PC port is not terrific, but playable.
IMHO: if you own PTDE already play that again after reading\learning how to mod it. If you can't be arsed to do that, buy DSR, it certainly is worth it when on sale.

however this is the only dark souls game with keyboard prompts, all the other games you'll get controller prompts even when using a keyboard
anyways the games are perfectly playable with mouse and keyboard but it does feel a bit awkward at first, it's not hard to get used to and they can feel pretty good with mouse and keyboard after some time
basically yeah they're playable, might feel weird at first but once you're used to it, it controls pretty well
Only regretted once, when through inexperience I fumbled with the controller and beat up Andre. Turned him aggressive so I decided to start a new playthrough.
(not knowing a second blacksmith and forgiveness exist)
You definitely don't need any mods, special hardware etc. to play DS1 Remastered with KBM.
And I don't think anyone said to do that, besides, real possibility of getting a ban with DSR.
I didn't attack your posting about installing a bunch of mods and "inofficial patches" in the PTDE, so.... what's your point exactly?
I absolutely agree with you that installing mods is a good way of getting banned in fromsoft games if you use them in online mode (that's why I mentioned that you don't need mods in D1R).
