What are the best boss weapons for both PVE and PVP?

Quelaag's Furysword for low levels and Lifehunt Scythe. For magicians there is also the staff of Manus. The rest is so-so

Quelaag's Fury sword and Chaos blade think both scales damage with up to 10 humanity like the "chaos upgrade path" weapons.

Quelaag's Fury sword is very good.+fashion it mostly deals fire damage most undead and plants are weak to fire so damage is more locational dependent.


Chaos blade basically deals more damage than other katanas but deal 20 self damage per hit.(can kill you).

Strong just like in DS 2.
Very good in PVP too as all other katanas.

Also has bleed status build up of 36 and 30%(9% to bosses)health damage upon bleed proc.


Lifehunt Sychte deals 40 self bleed build up so best to pair it with bloodbite ring or other bleed resistance increases but it does 50 bleed build up to the enemy and 50% health damage(15% if boss) to enemies once their invisible bleed bar is full.


(Stray demon firesage,Asylum demon only have 75 bleed resistance.

Most PVE enemies seem to have around 100-240 bleed resistance.)

But some are immune or very resistant to bleed.


A very very strong for PVE 50% health loss scales very well on later NG+ cycles againts bleedable enemies.Also has strong damage among dex weapons.


Crystal Ring Shield has low str requirements and can be used to block magic damage very well for PVE.

Can also shoot magic.
Can be repaired.


Greatshield of Artorias has 34 str requirements but in PVE can block all status build up and has 88 stability even on+0 so can block extremely well.

So Very good PVE shield.


Many boss weapons have weapons skills but they consume durability.


But you can just use basic weapons and use resins or weapon buffs.

Boss weapons are very hard to upgrade as their upgrade material is rare.

Moonlight Butterfly horn is actually a very good sidearm for mages, is naturally available if you get a +10 spear from Sen's and is the best pure INT weapon besides Moonlight GS. It is fast, longer than other spears, has no split damage and looks dope. Crystal Ring is kinda deceiving since it's special ability is rather weak, and it's guard boost is so low the extra magic resistance doesn't help. Versus mage enemies better use the Crest shield or the Dark Hand (abysmal guard boost too but much lighter). Other than that, the previous user nailed it
