Can I keep playing after kindling the First Flame?

Or does it force me straight into NG+? I just beat Gwyn and I was going to light the fire/flame, but I want to fight him again with my friend and also do other things before I finish. Is it possible?

(Also if I walk out will it be NG+ as well or can I continue?)

Okay I can say after lighting the flame, it takes u into NG+, so RIP you can't co-op Gwyn twice sadly....

I wonder what would of happened if I homeward boned though.. does anyone know?

As mentioned either lighting the fire or walking out will start NG. Can't say what will happen if you use a homeward though.

You appear right in the boss arena, you can only trigger the endings after killing gwyn

In later games like ER or DS3 you do get sent back to finish stuff off. Sadly Bloodborne, Demon Souls and DS1 aren't so lucky

Homeward bone is essentially leaving the area.
Just like leaving the area, NG+

You automatically start NG+ after Gwyn dies.

As after that point the only thing you can do is to choose the 2 endings. Then the ending cinematic plays, credit rolls, then intro cinematic will play and the game resets but this time in NG+ and you get to keep everything you have barring unused/remaining quest items which will have to be regained for the playthrough.

So if you're a completionist, make sure you get everything you needed to do and get (such as completing the DLC or defeat hidden bosses on NG) before moving on to kill Gwyn.

Yeah killing final boss auto starts NG+ in bloodborne and DS1 and DES.

In others souls+Sekiro you choose when to start your NG+cycle.

In case of DS1 emblems do not carry over to NG+
So make sure to do your wanted weapon upgrades.

The kindle state of bonfires does carry over to NG+cycles so good idea to kindle commonly used bonfires.

Yeah I would have loved to know this before i versed Gwyn arghhh it sucks so much, but on we go.
