That's why people tend to ditch the heavier armor for PVE in NG+ cycles but the steel armor looks too cool for me to get rid of.
The increases to later cycles are a smaller fixed percentage so if you get over this hump you'll be good.
The start of the game you are dropped in a cell, and are befriended by someone dropping a key to your cell down to you.
Now, you ain't ♥♥♥♥♥. You got nothing. You must go through the tutorial to actually acquire your starter weapon and shield.
But, you die, you learn, you die some more, and you press ever onward.
There is this guy who set the entire world in motion, and he needs to be taken down.
Much thrashing happens.
Don't forget to do the DLC before you approach him. Cause he dies and the DLC isn't available.
Finally, you stand toe to toe with Lord Gwyn, and he dies. It wasn't that hard of a fight - for most.
Now you immediately start NG+
NG+ is purposely unbalanced in favor of the various mobs and bosses.
You feel like you're back in your starter ♥♥♥♥♥ and it really is frustrating.
Much thrashing about happens. But you know how to do this. You know when to explore, when to bait one hollow from a group, and when to use the bow for that purpose.
But, when you get to the end - a bit of deja vu happens. You've been here before.
Note that NG++ is not balanced as such, but it isn't nearly as aggressive as NG+
You are a bad ass at the end of NG. But, NG+ shows you that power is relative.
NG++ increases a bit too much, but - you're a bad ass. You got this.
Each + over NG++ is trends towards balanced. Play as long as you like.
My longest is lvl 253, NG++++++
NG++ is only required for Sif's Boss Soul, so the game is designed for 2.5 runs. You will have everything you need for 100% completion.
This is the plan; Now, go forth and become a bad ass. Again.
The only game Properly designed for multiple runs was dark souls 2.
In all the other titles its the same exact same game but with buffed numbers.
They required more runs to 100% but most people dont care about 100% if it cant be done in one play through.
It doesn't get hard until the 4 kings roll round again. Not with a good build anyway.
Git gud.
