But you're there much too early, the darkness is a warning: Turn back! Return to Firelink Shrine.
For now that's a dead end for you, and later you'll get several possibilities to get some light.
So where is the second stupid bell im suppose to ring?
I cant go back lol
I'd focus my efforts on typing out "Dark Souls how get light" rather than writing a whole three paragraphs on how the level design is bad(imo)
Or just DL a mod that lets me spawn back at the firelink shrine and then uninstall it and then make my way to blight town like i guess i should have from the start.
And i have the lantern the area is just bad level design imo. Until you get the lantern its just trial and error in terms of not falling off the map.
It has been declared that all of you are wrong because that guy ^^ up there cannot figure out how to play the game. Him not figuring out that fighting significantly stronger mobs than himself is not a warning to check out other options (which you all managed to do) but is simply bad design.
It has been surmised that life itself must be bent to his will, 'cause otherwise it is too hard Does life let you download a mod, to cheat, to escape from bad decisions - well maybe it should. Maybe it should.
Wrong but i support your belief. DS3 let you warp to different bonfires, Its a cannon feature that should have been introduced into DS1.
I get people wanna think DS1 is the best in the series but im sorry but you are completely wrong and so is everyone else that claims that DS1 is anything but mid tier TODAY, not when it launched and theirs a difference because when DS1 launched the only other Souls game was Demon Souls so you couldnt compare DS1 with really any other game other than Demon souls which DS1 is really just a longer version of Demon Souls. Both games play/feel the exact same.
But today, Since we have games like DS3 and Elden Ring and Lies Of P. Going back to play DS1 feels wonky and, like i said, mid tier.
And the only part i need to "get good at" is learning the level design and where to go. Unless i use a guide or learn to predict the future and read the games code through my compute monitor to figure out the best path to take. Theirs no "getting good" when you are traversing a mid tier world map.
Also, unless you wanna take yourself off private i cant take anything you say seriously when you speak about "getting good" or your experience in any game at all since i cant tel if you even own DS's.
Im also not sure if you can comment on a thread without having the game so maybe the fact that you are commenting is proof enough but still, Its hard to take you or anyone seriously when they keep their profile on hidden aka hiding.
I think it's more a matter of preference. I don't like DS2 or DS3 (I've given both a fair try multiple times and I got almost to the end of 3 before I decided I wasn't having fun) but I liked DS1, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring.
I like DS1 and Elden Ring's combat more than 2 and 3 although I realize all these games have their problem. I also prefer the level design in 1 as well. I'm not going to say 1 is perfect because the game is unfinished and unlike Demon Souls the largely under cooked part wasn't cut out and it shows but what's good is good especially with Elden Ring's generally lackluster level design and the lack of connectivity I felt in DS3.
It's probably pretty boring to become as familiar with the game purely with videos and guides.
no, it's 'learning to take the hints the game is dropping'. in real life, do you look for a light in a dark room first or do you just stumble around blindly until you find what you want? yeah.
Ive literally never walked into a room thats pitch black where i cant see anything at all. The human eye can adjust pretty fast in a pitch black room and i dont think ive ever been in a situation where ive need to be in a pitch black room.
There are street lights literally everywhere and even when i come home and the lights are off, i can still see lol So your little explanation is kinda off.
And the "hints" are typically the NPC telling you the name of a location and thats about it as far as hints are concerned. Unless im not finding the NPC's that are telling me to "go left down the stairs and make sure you dont go thi certain way".
So yeah, there are no hints as to where to go. Its trial and error and i hate that kind of gameplay unless its fighting something. Trial and error doesn't involve skill it involves failing and then trying again and learning the map. Its not like fighting a boss where you have to have hand/eye coordination.
Combat feels great. My only issue is the level design. I personally find it pretty meh after you ring the first bell.
no, there are environmental hints, like it being too dark to see, or enemies being really, really strong. it's not on the game that you didn't notice them or outright ignored them.
There's still a decent number of people online. The problem is that half of them are twinks lurking in the burg or with the Anor Londoo snipers. The other half are hanging out in Oolacile waiting to duel.
