Issues With Summoning

My friend is trying to summon me for help with a boss but is unable to. However I am able to summon him for help with bosses no problem. We are within the 5 levels of each other and have matching Network settings. I would like to restate that I am able to summon him.

There can be several reasons.
Where exactly are you trying to summon ? (Some areas don't have multiplayer before certain actions.)
What do you mean with "unable to summon"? He can not see your sign or summoning fails?
In case he can't see your sign at all, try to shorten your Steam account name. I don't know about your friend, but your name is too long for sure. Some other players could solve similar issues after they used a shorter name. (no joke)

The above explanation helped me and a forum fellow do coop. They changed their steam name (was long) to a shorter one. And it worked.

Same issue with a friend. He can summon me, I cant even see his summon sign. No idea why, everything is double checked. Both have the same bosses up, similar levels, same password, both human. Is just seem broken to me for no reason. We didnt have any issue before the servers broke down.

This issue appeared in DSR only since the game got an update and came back to online a few months ago. No idea why the account name makes problems, it is strange. Doesn't happen in DS3.
But in PTDE the summoning worked very different. There your steam account name was equal to the summon sign name, and ofc it wasn't possible to type in names with 20 characters or so. Well, shouldn't affect the DSR, but for some reason it does and causes some confusion.

Thats a bug for the old version since it used the steam names, but it doesnt make sence in the remastered. So yeah, I know that, thats why I tried that to fix it, but still doesnt make any sense to still be a bug on this version of the game since it uses character names. Next time use the brain cells a bit more before commenting.
