Reinforced club and Large club
Hi!!

I am going to start with clubs (later maybe I change the weapon when I discover the weapons in the game while playing), so my question is if It is worthy improve to +5 the Reinforced club and later obtain and improve the Large club, or if It is better to wait and improve only the Large club?

I wish there were an starting alabard as in Demon's Souls haha

Thank you so much!!

I upgrade always the Reinforced Club to +5. It makes the early game so much easier. With it's jump attack you can guard break the blocking enemies ,it is also very strong against skeletons, Golems and the Stone Knights in Darkroot Garden. It can stagger and bleed the wyvern in Valley of Drakes.
And later you can upgrade your +5 weapon to a Divine Club ( Skeletons in Catacombs) or maybe a Fire Club ( Jump attack on Slimes in Depths > insane damage with fire ).
You can even stagger some bosses with a Reinforced Club, go for it.

upgrading the stuff you find to +5 just to play around will not represent a significant setback. go ham.

Is It worthy to upgrade to divine? I am planning to later use Large club innthe long run (except if I discover a better weapon or a weapon I like more), but until get one, is It a good idea upgrade Reinforced club to divine? I think I have read divine make them weaker (I Guess)

The divine weapon has only one purpose, it can kill skeletons in Catacombs ( when the necromancers are still alive), and as well the skeletons in a certain boss fight. You can also get a divine weapon without to upgrade anything. For this you pick up an Occult Club in Anor Londo and downgrade it.
Also: you can buy so many Reinforced Clubs as you want, and the Titanite Shards to get weapons to +5 are also not so expensive. You can farm them or buy them in early game already.
But that you can decide after you have played for a while. Maybe you want stick with the club ? > Then upgrade it further. Or maybe found another weapon you like more ? Then use the other weapon and do with your club whatever you want. Or buy 3 of them... many choices.

Reinforced club and Large club are worth to upgrade? To what: fire, Lighting, crystal...?

That depends on your stats. When you infuse a weapon with fire or lightning, the stat scaling gets removed. This means it doesn't scale anymore with your strength or dex. So it makes no sense for a higher level char with 40 str.
And also such infused weapons deal split damage ( splitted between fire and physical) and are only useful when your enemy is weak to the chosen element.
But they work very well when you're low level or when you focus mostly on endurance and vitality.
Btw: when you're a pyromancer you won't need a fire weapon. Pyromancers can use Combustion / Great Combustion to deal fire damage in melee combat.

Invaders with Chaos weapons can be very strong, because they don't need to invest much points in damage dealing stats.
Chaos weapons deal also fire damage, and on top of this they get a scaling with humanity. But that's something for more experienced players, when they're able to stay alive and don't lose their 10 soft humanities.

For STR builds: normal club(not reinforced) is best for light weight while str scaling, but go for the Greatclub, the best. Large inflicts poison and has a pvp-worthy horizontal swing, though. If using a str build; I juggle those 3 at +15 and use resins. Enchanted GC is the most powerful scaling weapon...at str99/int99, lol.

I though Reinforced club was better

Reinforced club is better for low level chars at begin, when you just started. The normal club is better for a str. build much later, after you have put some points into strength and got enough upgrade materials for the higher upgrades with large titanites and chunks.

Here are some examples. A pyromancer starts with 12 strength , and wields a twohanded Reinforced Club and a twohanded normal club, both unupgraded. He deals about 121 dmg with Reinforced Club and 118 with the normal one. When upgraded to +5 the little difference is simlar, but keep in mind the added bleed bonus.
Now imagine you leveled up strength to 20 and the weapons are upgraded to +5. Now your char would deal 217 dmg with Reinforced Club and 224 with the normal one. This difference will increase the higher as you level up your strength and upgrade the weapons.

You can always put your stats and weapons in a build calculator. Mugenmonkey shows only +15 weapons, but on fextralife you can compare all weapon upgrades.

has bad scaling, so it's better for low strength such as a twinking build. It is the best weapon for sl1 runs, in what is by far the majority of runners opinions(battle axe is second, maybe?).

-Reinforced Club for "low level STR" or faith/intelligence infusion and causes bleed
-Club for high scaling, but low weight
-Large Club is stronger/poisonous and probably the best club for pvp
-Greatclub is strongest for sheer power, but it's weight, speed and lack of a horizontal swing/affliction are a small problem for pve

I mean when you use the fextralife calculator you can put there +5 or +10 weapons in your build and compare their damage output. That's possible for all levels and upgrades.
