Mage vs Melee?

What are you guys having fun with right now?

Mage is nice because of the insane damage, but nothing feels better than beating someone down with a giant sword.

Doing faith-infused melee right now. I had forgotten how broken the Zweihander is.
I've done pure caster (no melee of any kind at all) on DaS1, 2 and 2S. It was fun even when it was kinda broken. Sadly I found it's not possible on 3.

A Dark Mage. Pursuers & Dark Bead combo can straight up one shot most people, I never get tired of winning! Of course, it becomes bad against people that know exactly how to play around them

I am having fun with great scythe and claymore on a dex build, 50 Vit/ 40 End/ 12 Att/ 16 Str/ 33 dex/, I am also using crown of dusk and bellowing sometimes to really destroy people with grat combustion, altho I like more the melee approach, not much of a caster really

Magic is especially powerful because of the desync issues. I've died from homing soulmass when it didn't fire off from the guy on my end.

Yeah a lagging mage with soulmass is kind of unstoppable

Yes its not great on 3 because the casts are so slow and telegraphed. For PvP

Not to mention there's a really scummy trick you can use to your advantage. If you have certain spells up and the invader spawns in, they can't see them on their screen, allowing you to get in a free hit. The first time I encountered this I thought my opponent was cheating

Melee is slightly harder to dodge but is able to be parried. Mages have insane damage but any good player can easily roll any spell. And mages are glass cannons so they only take 1 or 2 good hits. I prefer a type of melee build but i have a mage character as well. stopped playing her when she got to painted world. Just wanted to go melee instead and ended up finishing the game that way.

Havel monster with lightning zwei. Throw in some tranquil walk and some karmic justice or even some sword dance and you got yourself some fun :D
