Griggs won't go to Fire link

Very rarely such a bug can happen with Siegward in Sens Fortress. But I never heard it about Griggs.
If you can't get him after reloading, and the ring is important for you, maybe should start over with another char?
Or you get a friend to drop it for you. Or: you start a new char, rush to Griggs, buy the ring, find somebody to transfer it.
