Vamos the skeleton in the catacombs will upgrade to +5 fire, if you have Large Green Titanite Shards. Will need embers to go past +5

As a heads up, it's a pain in the ass to get back out of the catacombs in the early game if you are not familiar with the game already. More than a few new players have gotten "Stuck" at the fire smith's bonfire (a new addition to this rerelease)

Later in the game you will unlock the ability to teleport from any almost any bonfire to certain bonfires.

Best to err on the side of caution with new players lest you "advise" them into a corner. Particularly with the amount of threads about newbies getting stuck down there anyways at the remaster launch.

I mean, just because I can beat Bed of Chaos in one try (*cough* today was first time I pulled that off *cough*) doesn't mean I should suggest to new players "It's the easiest boss because you only have to hit it once! Easy!"

There are two embers you need for fire.

First, there's a Large Flame Ember in Demon Ruins. You have to defeat Ceaseless Discharge in order to make the lava stop flowing so you can get to that area. That will let you do Fire infusions up to +10, their most powerful.

Second, there's a Chaos Flame Ember in Demon Ruins being guarded by 9 Taurus Demons. You can get it much later in the game with a special item, but you can get it with a combination of Flash Sweat and Ring of Sacrifice, because it's sitting in the middle of lava. Chaos infusion is a million times better than standard fire, so I recommend that. Hope this helps!
