Old Witch's Ring Droppable?

I was curious if this starter gift was still viewable by players that didn't start with the ring or have advanced weapons/items. If anyone would like to try, I'd be open to testing this out with a new character later. Add/comment below to let me know if you're interested; Thanks!

Any rings can be dropped AFAIK.

Which is waaaaaay far into the game and I may wish to keep this. I'm thinking of doing a low SL run and choose the Master Key (as it's still relevant). By the time I can access the Sunlight Maggot, the Key and Ring is irrelevant; Or at least, i could have enjoyed both long before then.

You're right though, I could make a new character and level it normally and go through the game. I did that for like 1600 hours in the old game on an alt so I believe I might be forgiven for wishing to attempt something new. Before I did this though, i wanted to verify whether or not the remaster allowed you to drop trade the ring; Because if I can, then this is precisely what I want to do.
