If someone is a Gravelord Servant, they infect your game, spawning super powerful wraiths in specific locations (if you are playing in NG+)/ otherwise you may encounter a small crab like creature which will spew several magic missles at you and will be placed in bad spots (such as on the walk way with the archers in Anor Londo).
A Gravelord Servant will leave a trail with a black colored summon sign that will allow the infect players to invade his world so he can attempt to harvest their humanity.
In the event the Gravelord Servant is killed, anyone who has their world infected will recieve the message telling them that the "disasters" (powerful enemies) have gone since he was killed by somone else.
so they are more commonly found near difficult parts of the game
Apparently it doesn’t have to be NG+ for this to happen…
