If you killed the sunlight maggots, then he'll be saved and won't get crazy there.
The maggots are all still alive, but the shortcut has already been opened. Can i still do it ?
Nope, still won't appear :(
Nope. I only killed Ceaseless Discharge, but that surely didn't affected the questline.
In my experience you have to talk to him at all points(except Sunlight Altar) to get him to move along. If you haven't talked to him at the post-Centipede Bonfire, I don't think he moves on. You can screw up his quest line before defeating Centipede, but he doesn't go crazy hollow until after the Centipede is defeated. I've ready he's buggy as hell, so take my suggestion with a grain of salt.
I had my own bug where Solaire never left his first spot despite me having gotten the white soapstone(maybe I walked away mid conversation?) After I got to Anor Londo, he wasn't there nor anywhere after. I had to go back and exhaust his dialogue to finally get him to advance. Then, I had to go to each spot to get him to move forward. Only then did he appear in the shortcut. Once I talked to him there, his sign appears in the Kiln where it should be.
I see. Well, i actually talked with him at sunlight altar, but not at the post-centipede. I also tried to actually kill the centipede, but it still didn't worked.
Since anything seems to make him go crazy, i finally decided to kill him. I will use the souls from the centipede to request an absolution to Oswald, so the Darkmoon Blade Covenant won't hunt my ass down.
I'll rember about that next time.
