Preparing for Blighttown
Last time I played I beat the Gaping Dragon but I stopped when I realized I was going into Blighttown next. I have heard that this area is the hardest in the game.

So since I'm pretty bad at this game I made a list of stuff to try to farm up before even attempting it based on google searching what you should have going down there.

I decided my equipment would be all uchigatana, boar head helm and black leather armor, gloves and boots and I would max enhance all of it.(I'm halfway done with this). This seems to give the most poison resistance out of the armor I have. I went to get the rusted iron ring(not sure why I needed this but I'll wear it) and I bought the anti poison ring.

I then bought 20 of the moss that cures poison and 5 of the one that cures toxin. I also bought a few of the thing that cures curses.

I've not really used magic aside from killing oozes for getting large titanite shards. Is getting magic or miracles advised for blighttown?

I'm also willing to farm up a few 100k souls if you think a noob that sucks should be higher level. I'll probably get an easy 50k-100k farming shards for leveling my equipment up.

Edit: Does the spider shield have an anti toxin/poison mechanic? I'm using a baldars shield right now. I don't think when I was selecting my equipment that it seemed better but I don't know if equipment can have hidden mechanics/stats.

There are 2 entrances to Blighttown. The Blighttown Key you got from the Gaping Dragon allows you to enter Blighttown from the top. The Master Key allows you to enter Blighttown from the bottom.

Get the Spider Shield. It can help you block poison attacks from the giant mosquitoes and the giant slugs at lower Blighttown. The Spider Shield can also block toxic attacks from blow pipe snipers, including snipers near the bottom layer and snipers found at upper Blighttown. Use a bow and arrows to snipe the flying enemies.

Purple Moss Clump can be useful, so is Blooming Purple Moss Clump. Farm these from the Demonic Foliage at Darkroot Garden, or purchase them from the Female Undead Merchant. Enter Blighttown with an upgraded Estus Flask, e.g. +1 or higher. Ensure you have at least 10 uses of the Estus Flask. Bring some Humanities with you to kindle the various bonfires at Blighttown.

You want to enter lower Blighttown as soon as possible because most enemies there drop valuable upgrade materials such as Large Titanite Shards. The upgrade materials will be useful against the area boss.

Ok, the Spider Shield is better than the Baldar shield for Blighttown, good to know. I'll work on upgrading it instead.

I don't have the master key, I was told it was better experience for a noob at the game without being able to unlock areas they shouldn't go into yet.

I also think I can't get a +1 estus flask until later since I used the item that enhances it. I thought you used it to get the bonus and now I guess I'm screwed out of it until I get another...whatever that item was. But on the bright side I have plenty of humanity to kindle the bonfires.

Thanks for the tips.

There are 3 areas where you can get the Firekeeper Souls at this early in the game. Only 2 since you don't have the Master Key. One Firekeeper Soul is found at New Londo Ruins, in the ghost area. You have to make a suicide run to get the Firekeeper Soul there. Make sure you spend all your souls first (souls in the souls counter, not soul items in your inventory). The other Firekeeper Soul can be found in front of a large statue at Undead Parish. Grab one or more Firekeeper Souls, talk to Anastacia (the girl in a cell underneath the bonfire at Firelink Shrine), and use the option to upgrade your Estus Flask.

I would suggest gathering a good stock of Throwing Knives - trust me, they're will be useful in that area, particularly the bottom.
Oswald of Carim (the confessor near the Gargoyles's arena) sale you a ring against Poison (for a very high price).

Forgot to mention an important tip for when you explore lower Blighttown. Look into and obtain the Rusted Iron Ring.

Yeah, Rusted Iron Ring will make the need for poison moss much less severe. Kindle the bonfire and you should be able to do a full farming trip without using any.

OP will need some way to deal with mosquitoes, preferably at range. Soul Arrow is really good for this as each cast does pretty much exactly the right damage to kill one mosquito, and you get just enough charges to deal with all of them on each trip. But any ranged damage will help.

General advice - don't panic. Look around. Don't get into combat on shaky ground, drag them back to some place you're comfortable. Ladders are indicated by torches. If you see toxic start building up get into cover _immediately_ - there is a blowgun sniper targeting you.

Is it worth a suicide run in new lando ruins for the fire keeper soul if I have 7 humanity? Humanity seems so rare.

Honestly, no.
But you can spent them to reinforce Bonfires if you don't want to be too worried about that.

Humanities are not rare at all. Farming for the Humanity item can seem rare at first, but once you get to The Depths, you can farm Humanity items from the rats there. Don't need to defeat the Gaping Dragon, but you must defeat the Taurus Demon to get the key to the Depths. You also get soft Humanities from killing a certain number of enemies. Try killing enemies at the Undead Burg over and over again, and eventually you would get a soft Humanity in your Humanity counter.

On the other hand, Firekeeper Souls are rare because you can only legitimately obtain at most 7 of those in a single playthrough. Again, for new players I would suggest you make a suicide run to New Londo Ruins to obtain the Firekeeper Soul there. The run isn't difficult or dangerous, and might be easier than you think. This video shows you how to do the run to New Londo Ruins to collect the Firekeeper Soul. Start from timestamp 3:45
