I think I was eaten actually lol... since I could run all the way up to them, then only after an attack I bascially disappeared... pretty sure it's some sort of 1 hit ko move... Honestly I'm not sure. I'm running both rusted iron and havel's for max movespeed.
Either go a bit into the water and stay close to the item there. Or wait behind the rock close to the beach ( there you need a shield to block the ranged attacks).
You can cut off the most heads with melee weapons, but don't go to far into the water.
For the last head you should use some ranged attacks, firebombs, bow....
If you have rusted iron ring, wear it. Would make the fight much easier.
But ya, really cool fight once I realized what was going on.
I think what happened was either I rolled off (since I walked up pretty much underneath them), or during one for the attacks it hit me and knocked me closer into the pit. I didn't know I could stand so far back which is how I eventually beat it,
I'm not sure why no one ever suggests sniping it with Great Bow arrows anymore. I suppose you could use a bow and Hawk ring as an alternative if you're not on a quality build.
