I don't like manus.
I know, everyone thinks he's a great boss, but i think the rng, spam and speed defeats the joy of the boss. I find that he is way to fast for this game, and is way too reliant on rng. I like his design and some of his attacks, I just think he was poorly implemented. He is my only other boss than gwyn, is it ok to just skip manus?

I think it's also the fact that you need a stupid item to beat this piece of ♥♥♥♥

which is a brain to learn his attacks.
You can dodge everything with fast roll easily

I don't like Manus either. I usually dislike games having bosses most of the time. DS is an exception, where most bosses I actually love, mostly because of lore tho, not gameplay-wise.

It's possible to cheese him by spamming arrows his way from outside the fog wall. No idea where the exact spot is though.

I hate him too and usually don't bother, but if first new game, Havels tanking him is completely possible.

I agree completely. Unless you are really confident in your reflexes and not losing focus/getting distracted I feel like it's way too difficult to fight him as someone using light armor, a medium/small shield, and a light/fast weapon. I think trying to dodge his attacks is bullsh*t (especially the 5 or 6 hit combo he does where he juggles you into the air and then smashes you into the ground twice) so I just tank him in full havel's. Unfortunately if you don't have a very good amount of endurance and enough strength to use a greatshield putting on Havel's armor can only go so far. To tank Manus you really need a 100% physical block greatshield and if it has high magic resist that's even better (if you can't use the Silver Pendant fast enough).

use bow/arrow and hawk ring and shoot him from the cliff near fog...
You have to free aim it which it sucks but yeah this is definitely possible. To cheese manus this way I would suggest letting one of the smaller humanity sprites nearby do enough to damage to you to put your in Red Tearstone Ring range so you get a large damage boost (just make sure you kill every other humanity sprite nearby before using a small one to setup RTSR). Even then it will take a long time to kill him with arrows this way.

Yea he is too fast for the game, if it would be DS3 then it wouldve suited the game, but the DLC is overall faster than the original game.

Well, it's kinda fitting then having gone through the Sunken City to get to him.

It's not RNG, all his attacks can be reliably avoided by pure skill.

You mean Oolacile? When you said Sunken City I was also thinking you meant the New Londo Ruins (the city was sunken...in a way...) but of course that makes no sense. Also even though it's not part of Dark Souls 1 you made me think of the city Shulva in the Dark Souls 2 DLC, The Crown of the Sunken King.

I was thinking of the city you go through before fighting Yorm? The Giant. Wasn't that called the Sunken City?

I swear it looks like the same place to me.
