Coop level difference

So folks on the forums for DS3 say that there's no level restriction if you use a password protected coop match. Is this the case for DS 1 (And 2)? Would love to pick this up for a buddy if the coop is unrestricted.

yes, coop in DS 1 Remastered is unrestricted if you use a password. In DS2 the coop range is based on Soul Memory (all the souls that your character have consumed in your playthrough) so if you want to play ds2 entirely in coop you and your friend need to stand in closed souls range

Neither SL nor WL matter for password matchmaking. For DS2 only soul memory matters and it varies depending on what kind of soapstone you use and if you have the name engraved ring or not. There's a range calculator on sites like fextra. Don't leave fextra open in the background, they often embed their garbage stream as ad.
