If you want proceed in "Blighttown" starting by "Depths", it will be very hard and it will take more time, i can try to help you if you reach the bonfire at the swamp.
Good luck
Getting poisoned? Get appropriate armor, shield, ring, and carry the moss.
You said before that you came in the 'easy' way, meaning from Firelink Shrine -> new Londo -> Valley of Drakes -> Blighttown, right?
If so, here's how to get to the bonfire:
1) Once you get past the Infected Barbarians to reach the wooden platform sections, keep looking for ladders downward. Ladders are usually marked with torches which make them easy to see
2) Eventually you will find a wooden elevator. Ride that down
3) This will put you just above the giant poison swamp.
4) Put one of the outer boundary walls of the swamp on your left and just follow the wall. You'll get to the small tunnel with the bonfire after only a few fights.
No judgement, I take the key as a gift now as well after first play through in PTDE, but you really shouldn't in your first play through, you are just cheating yourself from all the game offers.
If you arrived from the Valley of the Drakes, just go down down down until you can't go down anymore, then go left. Your bonfire will be tucked away in a sewer grate.
The boss is pretty great too. My only problem with her is that I don't think she should be immune to poison. Lore-wise we're told that her nearly identical sister was brought to death's door by poison/disease. Many other demons are also poisonable.
And game design-wise the player just got their first poison/toxic-inflicting weapons and items recently, so it would be satisfying to be able to put those to use against the boss.
But for some reason she's immune.
