I was actually a bit scared to ask for advice, i was expecting a train of "Get good" , i heard a lot of horror stories that the most toxic part of the dark souls community recided in DS1, but so far i've only found helpful people, which is just awesome.
You are throwing away a good amount of loot. Plus you can never finish the game, but you do you - I guess.
And its not like i'm not gonna come back, i just wanted to know if it was best to go through the area now or go somewhere else like the dephts or blighttown and then come back later when i can reliably fight the ghosts without getting penetrated from all sides.
Edit: afraid of ghosts? please, if i can go through bloodborn without getting scared these cartoony ghosts wouldnt scare me even if i was 6 years old again.
As for Transient Curses, equip one of the Serpent Rings when you fight ghosts and they'll drop more of them than you use. My last time through, I ended up +12 without ever buying any from a merchant. I suppose surplus humanity would also serve if you didn't find the rings in <spoiler> or <spoiler>.
FWIW the "git gud" memes and all that are (mostly) ironic, the community in my experiences for the several years I've been around it are pretty welcoming, but stuff like this can always be a mixed bag
Don't bother listening those who says that "you just kill them". Better keep the curses left for a more advanced part of the game, especially because there are "easier" areas that you should go through, like, as you said, the Depths or Blighttown. Leave New Londo for later, trust those who said that and ignore the "git gud" ones
