And ye, i damn wish Bluepoint wouldve gotten the Job to do the Remaster for DS1 but instead Fromsoft decided to be cheap and outsource it to a garbage company so we got this money ripoff.
Not to say that Bluepoint did a perfect Job on Demons or anything, as there are still a ton of things that could have been improved on, but hey, it's a solid, amazing game they delivered plus a secret or two.
Also, who could not be in love with that insanely beautiful Moonlight Greatsword.
k
Also people are still not happy, I've read many griping that it should have been a free release with the system launch lol
The remaster was just a weak cash grab. Nobody asked for it.
And Demon's Souls IS a remake. They overhauled everything, from graphics to lighting and animation. Besides, they butchered the entire soundtrack and got rid of the best glitch of the game involving Stockpile Thomas while keeping ♥♥♥♥♥♥ path-finding issues intact. What a load of crap.
I also have Remastered and PTD editions here on Steam. I have DS2&3 although I don't care for either. I do feel its important to support artists, and studios how I can so From Software is on my list that deserve support to the point of buying DS2, DS3 while not liking them very much.
Back to this specific topic, both DS1 versions are good. I don't want them redone. There is no need for it. Do DS2 if you want the dueling, and DS3 if you crave faster combat.
The urge to get everything polished up to match new gaming styles just negates why the game was important in the first place.
Some don't.
Some do.
Demon's Souls, however, along with the updated graphics, got new items, a new secret area, a new soundtrack, new effects, new animations, new character creation, new menus, new voice-acting and new item drop rates. It is a remake but with the story and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ glitches untouched.
I also love how people went away from the original topic of the post to arguing whether something is a remake or a remaster.
Remember, they even forbid studio responsible for Remaster(not Fromsoft) to change and improve more things. Just remember that
Not true... In the Dark Souls Remaster you have added bonefires, and now you can consume bulk amounts of souls which wasn't possible before. There were also changes made to the multiplayer such as increased player count from 4 to 6, nerf to healing item usage, and even a nerf to the consecutive summoning of phantoms when in combat.
You can find an overall breakdown online, but Dark Souls Remaster wasn't just a visual re-work.
Slap texture mod from nexus, add ds3/bloodborne style target lock mod and you already have half of the remake for free.
The purist that hate remaster can do the same with PTDE.
The only good thing that ds 3 engine can bring to the table is omni directional rolling. What else? Better effects, slightly better animations, eh not really worth it.
I'd prefer people working on new stuff rather then rehashing old.
