Can You make a video showcasing this?
the only thing required are 999 wood arrows which cost a total of 2997 souls.
its possible to do just as fast as you reach undead mercader
This is gouk method, which DOES consume 1 copy of the original item (you can get the effect of 999 of whatever quantity you choose, but at least 1 gets always used), but it work also with standard souls items with no prompt, so you have plenty spare anyway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=253tDHBY8Yw&
In the second method, make sure to "split" your items if you want to make sure only 1 gets used... say, for example you have 6 humanities in your inventory, and you want to duplicate to 30 soft humanities for the Chaos Servant covenant: you drop 5 humanities on the ground and keep 1, use it with the glitch to obtain 30 in your top counter, and then collect back the 5 you dropped
Why? it funnier when you can exploit some quirks with the game itself, plus you don't have to download and trust any 3rd party program, which also minimizes the risk of a ban. Last but not least, those glitches usually work with the console versions too, where it's much more difficult to use external cheats
- dupe 1 soul of a great hero to a stack of 99
- drop 98 of them on the floor
- use the quantity using exploit to consume your 1 remaining soul of a great hero 999 times
- have 20mil souls
- pick up the remaining 98 soul of a great hero
I'm pretty sure that step 1 can not be done with in-game exploits only... as far as I know, even with the old PTDE, there are no actual "duplication" tricks, meaning something that *increases* the item count in inventory, but only ways to use an item without losing it/in more quantity that normally available
Besides, if it was possible, than steps 2-5 would be completely redundant: just repeat the dupe to 99 as many times as you need
You can dupe any item that gives the quantity prompt when you try to drop it. The only item that I can think of off the top of my head that can't be duped is firekeeper souls.

Steps 2-5 allow you to consume a single version of the soul 999 times. That's 999 uses per single item in your stack of 99.
You're essentially turning one soul of a great hero (20,000 souls) into a potential 1,980,000,000 souls.
The actual duplication requires set up and is time consuming. The 999 uses is easy and can be done anywhere, so it's good to have that stack of 99 that can be consumed at any time.
Ah, that's cute, I've never seen this variant... this need a vendor menu, right? trying to "prompt swap" when buying something in a quantity that's not allowed, to generate a negative number
I might give this one a try, but I never tried dupe techniques, even though I have heard of them for years. I know it would be faster if I can just get "Farmer-Doop" 99 of the biggest soul, though. She already has 95% of all the consumables and chunks/scales/etc., at 99(I literally have 99 scales, if someone would like to help me "perfect" her, for a little bit...after work in about 8 hours from now).
What is the biggest soul that can be traded?
no idea lmao as I never tried it
There are videos on YouTube. I hadn't heard of this exploit before, so I looked it up. Just Google "backstab boss soul dupe" or something.
I found it on dark souls wiki and I assummed it to be joke, I mean come on "eat soul to duplicate it", "2H if you are female"
If you know a lot of the exploits that worked in PTDE then this one makes sense. There were a lot of exploits that worked in the exact same way, except they were performed using a roll instead of the backstab animation.
