I'm planning to play through again, doing a different path of events than normal. If I were to not free Logan from his cell in Sen's Fortress, but instead return to free him once I’ve been to Anor Londo would his progression path to the Duke's Archives become broken?

It's my guess that his trigger to move to the archive was the placing of the lord vessel (not defeating O&S as i used to think). I'm planning to do the Dark Wraith rout so if I freed Logan on my return trip to Fire Link he should still have his entire progression path locations happen, right?
My main goal is to have Griggs appear as a hollow in Sen's before ever freeing Logan (want to see if it's possible and what it's like encountering him on the return trip).

Logan's encounters happen in order no matter when you start his chain, even if you've already beaten Seath.

Griggs doesn't go hollow until you buy all his spells, including the ones he inherits from Logan. Logan has to pass through Firelink before Griggs has all his spells to sell.

Short answer is you can't get hollow Griggs without freeing Logan.

that's interesting about logan's path not being broken after killing seath.
I had read on a wiki that Grigg's didn't just needed his own spells bought if logan hadn't appeared. Either way i'll probably wait till after i do anor londo to free big hat man. Thanks for the information. ^^
