Restricted Account ( Artivle10: Prohibited Acts)

I'm not an experienced gamer and I've totally no experienced in online game, DSR is actually my first game with an online.
Once get bored of a game I always enjoyed some cheating, mostly for the fun of break the game. I always love games with a developer console to spawn enemies, active noclip and do any other impossibile ting.
As usual I did it also on Dark Souls, I've started with cheat engine to have an impossibile pg from the beginning and to explore the story in an unusual way.
I've played offline to avoid invasions but after a while I've received a message about Restriction at the start of the game.

"Restriction on Your Account
Data fraud had been detected on your account, and no improvement has been seen.
A game play with unauthorized data is a violation of the online service user policy (Artivle10: Prohibited Acts)."

I didn't care about, cause it looked fair to me. I just disconnected again to avoid pvp ( something that's looks quite useless to me now ) and keep breaking the game. Once tried everything I was curious about and defeated Gwyn, I've deleted the pg and stopped playing.

The problem is that my gf, that's playing her first run, is stuck to Anorlondo unable to go on without some help and I've noticed, despite I've deleted the broken pg, so "improvements should be seen", her pg are still unable to completely go online, she can see blood puddles, other players, but no evocation signs.

I'm just wondering, how long we have to wait to be unrestricted? I have to contact someone?

Could take over month. It is automated system what they use. However you can still be connected with other players, who also got their account restricted. They put restricted accounts in isolated server.

During the last months I never heard somebody got banned for cheating and could lift the ban.
It is possible bans are permanent and you will wait forever.

The better way would be: create a new account for your gf and family share the game.

Yes. But still better than forever alone.

The multiplayer isn't very active. It can take a long time to find signs.
But if she needs help with some bosses or areas, sometimes she could find help on the forum too.
( btw: a family shared account is restricted at first. Only if you buy a game there, you are able to post on the forum. Maybe need to spend 5 dollar on the new account, I forgot.)

I think she will try again and in case I will defeat Ornstein and Smough for her, and then she will end the game alone. They are the hardest bossfight after all. 15 hours of gameplay are a bit to many to restart and she's mostly interested in the plot than in the gameplay.

Just to know, if in the future I would like to do the same, I mean, cheat in single player, how can I do it without any consequence in multiplayer? There's a way to prevent a game to go online?

You can turn off internet connection before launching the game. But you should back up your save file before... err... MODDING it, cause if you'll go live with it, it'll sync up with server, and you'll get banned again.

Anyway, thanks for your suggestions. I will try to use the firewall, considering I have to keep my pc online even if i'm playing. And thanks about the save file. I would never thought about them.

Somethimes I think those modern game are pretty unhandy. XD

In any case: you need to set STEAM to offline, before starting to play. I don't talk about the ingame offline choice, I mean the whole Steam has to be in offline mode.

I never used CE, so I don't know so much about it.
Only can tell what I understood reading the forum every day.

Normally cheaters are not welcome here, but in your case seems to be ok.
The PTDE ( DS 1) would be the better choice to try mods.
If you want mod the Remaster again: I would suggest to create another account. And one account use for modding only, the other for clean online playing.
Same for DS 2 and DS 3. Only the PTDE you can mod without issues.

At least in Dark Souls 2 (and since 2018 also in Dark Souls 3) softbans are permanent. This is most likely also going to be the case here. Modding Dark Souls games can be fun especially when you have weird challange run mods like randomized items / randomized enemies, stuff like that.

What I recommend you to do though is that you create a second steam account and Family share it with your main account. That way, you can still play online on a different account.

Unfortunately I've never seen a ban lifted for data fraud my other account has been still restricted ever since 2018
