PS4 button controller prompts
Alrighty, so I have a PS4 controller for my PC, along with an Xbox 360 and Xbox One controller that I use for certain games, I prefer the PS4 controller for my souls games though.
Anyways, I use all of them wirelessly, and I also have the PS4 controller configuration checked in Steam Big Picture. For some reason, the PS4 button prompts aren't showing up in my game, I'm still getting the Xbox One controller button prompts, does anyone have a possible fix for this?
I even tried the method in another thread: https://steamcommunity.com/app/570940/discussions/0/1694922526905002915/?l=french
And I'm still not having any luck, the controller isn't even being recognized after doing ^

Any ideas? It would be very helpful, I'll answer any questions anyone has, I just want to know if other people are having the same issues and if anyone has a possilbe workaround.

I can't even get it to work with a reboot, but I guess i'll try again, hopefully we can get this figured out.

Disable the controller configuration for just the game, the PS4 button prompts will show up.

How would I go about doing that exactly? Do you have a screenshot and are using it wirelessly as well?

Big Picture Mode -> Library -> Dark Souls Remastered -> Manage Game -> Controller Options -> Use Steam Configuration for Non-Steam Controllers: Forced Off

I don't have a screenshot and I am using a cord.

Yeah, I've tried that before and I'm using Bluetooth, it's not working for me sadly.

Unable the PS4 support worked, is it normal that now is no longer vibrating? It did when the game was displaying the Xbox settings.

dont use bluetooth, you gotta use cord if you want to have the ps4 button prompts buddy. Also make sure to follow Seer's instructions.

turning the steam input per game to force off just turns off all controller options for the game...wont let me use the controller at all...

To anyone who finds this thread looking for an answer, this might be the thread of hope for you, and worked for me. Note: I am using a PS4 controller connected via bluetooth.

1. Quit DS4Windows
2. This step is NOT done in big picture mode. Navigate to your Steam Library, find Dark Souls Remastered, right click it and then click on "Properties". Click on the "Controller" tab, and on the next menu you should see a drop down list on the right of it that gives 3 options. Select "Disable Steam Input" in that list.
3. Click on Dark Souls Remastered on your library where you would click the green play button, and on the right you'll see a controller icon. Click it then make sure that "Disable Steam Input" is also set to off there.

For some reason, setting it to off in the menu I mentioned in step 2 does NOT set it off in the menu I mentioned in step 3. This was what was causing my issue, and now my bluetooth PS4 controller works perfectly with the PS prompts we've come to know and love.

Happy gaming, and I'd hate to see you go hollow.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
