Map Progression for first playthrough

Hi guys. I am looking for this type of map for DSR. This is my first playthrough.

I cant find any map that shows where to get flask upgrades etc. Thanks in advance.

its up to you which area you visit (here and there sometimes restrictions). but you can go in many areas from firelink shrine. try it out:)

in ds1 theres no estus shard, just fire keeper souls so thats a bonus

You take a Fire Keeper’s Soul you find to a fire keeper in order to upgrade how much each charge heals. You can also kill the fire keepers to get more, but doing so will make the bonfire they guard unusable.

To increase the number of charges, you have to use soft humanity while in human form to kindle bonfires. Each individual bonfire determines how many estus charges you have. Until you kill Pinwheel in the Catacombs, the max you can have is 10 (1 kindling). Afterwards, any bonfire can be further kindled giving you a max of 20 estus charges (3 kindlings). Also bonfires with fire keepers will already act as if they have been kindled once, and give 10 charges immediately. 20 is still their max.

So are you saying that fire keeper souls only gives me estus flash upgrades while kindling in human form increase its charges? so the mechanics is different from DS2 or DS3.

Thanks this is very helpful, unfortunately it doesnt show me essential item locations like more recent ds games. So the only way is for me to do a 100% item run? oh the pain.

Thanks this is very helpful, unfortunately it doesnt show me essential item locations like more recent ds games. So the only way is for me to do a 100% item run? oh the pain.
