Best weapon for crits, with weight taken into account, is probably a chaos bandit knife or chaos rapier. While Dark Silver Tracer has the highest "crit percentage" it actually doesn't do more than a chaos bandit knife, which has a lower crit modifier. It does less than a chaos rapier as well (though the rapier is .5 weight more)

that's funny, I just made a dex pyro character who is using a chaos bandit knife.

i've always wondered where the mail breaker actually falls into place among those weapons, because i like its running R1 more and nobody else uses it.

Everyone is wrong here, the holy grail of critical hits is the almighty GreatClub, let me explain: at 28 strenght it does massive damage when two handed, it out damages all rapiers and daggers, it weights 12 which is relatively good for the damage it does and it allows you to dump points into other stats, if you want a critical build do THIS https://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/641302

Absolute killer build, its called Havel Mom, its has 62 poise which allows you to poise 2 two handed attacks of the fast dex weapons (katana, falchion, scythes), you can poise through black flame as well, but you cant poise through zweihander two handed attacks, not a problem tho because you can just roll backstab that, its a build meant to backstab only kinda, altho you can use the jump attack to punish heals and the rolling 2handed attack, which deals infinite poise damage.
