Dual wield, viable?
I know that in the original Ds1 dual wielding was kinda crap, but it comes to my mind that maybe here in remastered, its MAYBE a bit better, any suggestions?

remaster has no changes gameplaywise

Combat mechanics haven't been touched in the remaster at all. Dual-wielding works exactly the same. Even most of the glitches are still there.

He asks not about two-handing, but dual wielding, like in DS2/DS3.

There is no dual wielding in Dark Souls 1, remastered or not. You can equip an off-hand weapon, but there's not much point. You can parry with curved swords in off-hand, including Quelaag's Furysword. Or put a spear there for pokes. But that's a lot of wasted weight, especially considering how stingy DS1 is with equipment load.

You can parry with a ton of gear in the left hand. Daggers, curved swords, rapiers, katanas, whips, fist weapons. It isn't optimal but there's perks to most of them. Quick hits and bleed buildup. Getting a light attack in before riposting. whip attack cannot be parried and has long range. A handaxe and spears, like you mentioned, can also complement your main weapon. An estoc or the like isn't bad either.
Lots of these don't weight a lot, like 1-2 units. Demon spear is 4, katanas 5.

There was no changes to balancing or ANYTHING related to it in Remaster. Learn it already and stop being so delusional.
Remaster is only 60fps patch that broke flip animation, nothing more, nothing less

only ds2 really made use of dual wielding

its pointless here

Actually there has been a gameplay change in Remastered. They removed dead angling.
Dual wielding is pretty much worthless since shield parrying is easy on DS1, don't do it.

Dual wielding in PvP is much much much better and more viable, than most people think or realize. And this extends to more than an offhand that can parry, as well. However, in PvE, it's pretty useless/pointless.
